Rakon Appoints Chief Operating Officer
Technology company Rakon has promoted current CFO Graham Leaming to the newly established role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Mr Leaming has been with Rakon since November 2005, and as CFO was closely involved with the listing of the company on the NZX two and a half years ago and Rakon's recent investments in Europe and Asia.
As COO he will be responsible for Rakon's global manufacturing operations, finance, HR and information systems.
The appointment reflects the growth of the company, which now has operations in the UK, Europe and Asia.
Rakon Managing Director, Brent Robinson said Graham had played an integral part of the company's global expansion. "He has shown great leadership and has earned the respect of the senior management team. When we decided we needed to appoint a COO he was the obvious choice and we are pleased he has taken on the position."
Mr. Leaming said he was excited about the new challenge. "Rakon is an exciting company in exciting times," he said. "There is great potential here and I'm looking forward to making sure we are in the best position possible to capitalise on it."
Mr. Leaming will also continue in his role as CFO He was previously Finance Director with the US Listed forestry company Rayonier; he holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University and is a member of New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
