Hay Maker By Mud House Wines Releases 08 Whites
The leading New Zealand wine brand Mud House Wines is this month releasing four new vintage wines in its popular, highly affordable HAY MAKeR range, including a new-to-the-range Pinot Gris.
The 2008 release of white wine varietals includes:
• 2008 HAY MAKeR Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
• 2008 HAY MAKeR Waipara Riesling
• 2008 HAY MAKeR Gisborne Chardonnay
• 2008 HAY MAKeR Gisborne Pinot Gris
Designed as the perfect food partner, and the most price-competitive of Mud House Wines’ three-tiered range, the 2008 vintage of HAY MAKeR has a lot to live up to – earlier this year, the 2007 HAY MAKeR Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was chosen by a Master Sommelier as one of two white wines to be poured to BusinessElite passengers onboard Delta Airlines. Delta serves more destinations than any other airline, and is the world’s second-largest carrier by passenger numbers.
Nadine Worley, winemaker for HAY MAKeR wines, says she is pleased with the latest release. “The Sauvignon Blanc, with its delicate crisp, tropical flavours, will not disappoint, and the ripe fruit style and subtle spicy finish of our new Pinot Gris will keep those Gris fans happy all summer long.”
The release of the new HAY MAKeR varietals builds further on a stellar year which saw Mud House Wines pick up a multitude of local and international wine awards, including for its reserve Mud House Swan and premium Mud House ranges.
Like Mud House Wines’ other ranges, HAY MAKeR wines follow the same multi-regional philosophy, where each varietal is grown in its ideal region.
Mud House Wines CEO Baden Ngan Kee said the release of this year’s HAY MAKeR range has helped meet the winery’s goal to make consistently approachable, quality wines that consumers can enjoy at any occasion. “We understand that many New Zealanders are looking for a good wine to pair with food at an affordable price point, especially in times like these when we all want to make our food-and-wine dollars go further.”
“HAY MAKeR meets this need – offering wines people can pick up at the supermarket and be confident they will enjoy. We’re looking forward to sharing our 2008 releases with many wine-drinking Kiwis.”
