Yahoo!Xtra now plays to your favourite tune
Yahoo!Xtra Music, New Zealand’s most comprehensive all-in-one site for music lovers has launched. The localised site offers Kiwis the ability to personalise the website to best suit their particular musical taste.
“With Yahoo!Xtra Music we can bring New Zealanders their favourite music and many other music related features, all from the one easy to navigate site,” says Kevin Bowler, CEO Yahoo!Xtra.
Yahoo!Xtra Music users simply log on to the Music homepage using their Yahoo! or Telecom Internet username and password to watch and rate videos and create personalised play-lists. Each time a user logs in to their account they are presented with music videos that reflect their ratings. The more videos people rate, the more likely the recommendations will match the users’ taste.
Telecom GM of Broadband, Ralph Brayham says “We’re bringing the world’s best music to New Zealanders for free. Yahoo!Xtra Music is a reflection of a great partnership bringing fantastic value to our internet customers.”
Other features of the site include Kiwi and international music blogs, the latest industry news and live streaming of local radio stations such as George FM, The Rock FM and More FM.
There are currently over 16 thousand music videos on the Yahoo!Xtra Music site and the database continues to expand with the latest clips from local and international artists.
