Go A Little Bit Crazy With Mad Olive Oil
Truly good food can delight your senses, lift your mood and make life all the more yummy – just ask counsellor Leanne French.
Making people’s lives better – be it through lifestyle, attitude or even eating habits – is what Leanne’s work is all about. Now she wants to make every meal more inspirational with the launch of her MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Made at the base of the North Island in the fields of Martinborough alongside the region’s signature Pinot Noir vines, MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a celebration of all that is gorgeous and good.
The secret to MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil’s sublime taste is that it’s made by passionate artisans Leanne and her husband Greg Keith who live and breathe the Wairarapa lifestyle. Each luscious olive was chosen to ensure that once crushed it would release only the finest flavor.
While most olive groves have over 1,000 trees to plant, prune and process, MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil has only 450 trees on the property – so every olive is lovingly nurtured, hand-picked, pressed nearby and sold locally.
MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil is deep in colour and rich in flavour, bursting with a fruity zing courtesy of the long, hot dry summers and cool winters that the Wairarapa region is famous for.
The versatile flavour of MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil makes it perfect for drizzling and dressing salads, dipping with bread, or even rubbing on your skin!
Everything has a creative edge at the Martinborough Art Department (MAD) where Leanne and Greg create their beautiful oil. Leanne says the couple believes life should be infused with colour, passion and possibility. MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil is simply an extension of their desire to inspire.
Tending to the land and trees and bringing a delicious life-enhancing product to fruition (they do everything themselves including label design) is much like transforming a blank canvas into brilliant art, says Leanne. There is an added element of surprise in everything they do, even in Leanne’s style of therapy where she guides, encourages and renovates lives online.
“Everything about the way this oil is produced is authentic. People really do know when something is created with love and care. We like to think we’ve captured the essence of how we live in each bottle of MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil so everyone around the country can get a taste of what it’s like to live the way we do and feel inspired,” says Leanne.
The lower yield means there are only 500 bottles available for release – so you won’t find this unique product available next to all those other imported foreign oils on the supermarket shelves.
MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil meets the high standards set by Olives NZ, not to mention the expectations of the Martinborough locals who really know their food and wine.
You can pick up one of the 500 limited edition bottles of MAD Extra Virgin Olive Oil (250mls, RRP $20.00) at the Martinborough Wine Centre, 6 Kitchener St, Martinborough, or order directly at oliveoil@mad.org.nz.
