Electricity Lines Businesses: Commerce Commission releases information disclosure requirements
The Commerce Commission is today issuing revised information disclosure requirements for electricity distribution businesses.
The Commission's original information disclosure requirements, issued in March 2004, largely replicated and replaced the earlier information disclosure regime under the Electricity (Information Disclosure) Regulations 1999, which was administered by the Ministry of Economic Development. These original requirements have been amended so that they apply mainly to Transpower. Several clauses still apply to electricity distribution businesses, pending further review.
The new set of requirements that apply to electricity distribution businesses are contained in the Electricity Distribution (Information Disclosure) Requirements 2008.
The Commission has also released a Companion Paper, which discusses the new requirements and how they relate to the Commission's previous high-level decisions on information disclosure.
The Commission's Information Disclosure Requirements and the Companion Paper can be found on the Commission's website, www.comcom.govt.nz under Industry Regulation/Electricity/Electricity Lines Businesses/information disclosure
