Falling dollar a boost for local website company
A Christchurch online marketing and website company, Anzatea (www.anzatea.co.nz), has capitalised on the falling NZ dollar by opening its first outlet in the United Kingdom.
As part of its international marketing strategy Anzatea Limited has entered the UK market with the launch of the website www.palaco.co.uk . This is the vehicle for marketing the Anzatea websites and online marketing tools in the UK. Managing Director Dr Terry Fullerton says a great opportunity exists for New Zealand IT companies to market their products overseas.
“This is a win-win situation for all concerned. With the going rate for a website in the UK in pounds about the same as what we charge here in NZ dollars there is plenty of margin for the UK retailer without the need for us to deduct any sales commission from our normal prices. At the current exchange rate of 2.72 NZ$ to the UK Pound the numbers work out very well for both of us.”
The focus for the UK people will be on the sales and marketing side with Anzatea in New Zealand building the websites and doing the search engine optimisation to help get clients websites to the top of search engines like Google.
“The key to the success of the UK venture is to have people based in the UK who can do the face to face client servicing. It simply wouldn’t work by trying to do it all online from New Zealand.”
“With the in-house software we have developed for building websites this means that we can get the order for one of our standard websites at the beginning of the day and have the site up and running for the UK client when they get to work the next day.”
“We make no secret of the fact that the websites are being built and managed from New Zealand as we see this as a unique selling point which capitalizes on the high regard in which New Zealand technical people are held by UK businesses,” Dr Fullerton concludes.
