ITV Global Entertainment Ltd And TVNZ Renew Output Deal
Cannes, 13 October – New Zealand's public broadcaster TVNZ and ITV Global Entertainment ltd, the company which combines
the recently merged Granada International and Granada Ventures businesses, have renewed the output deal between the two
companies. The multi-genre, multi-year agreement will see the UK's longest running soap Coronation Street remain on
TVNZ's flagship channel TV ONE.
Brokered by Augustus Dulgaro, SVP Sales Australia, New Zealand and Japan at ITV Global Entertainment ltd and Jeff Latch,
Head of Television at TVNZ and the deal was confirmed today at MIPCOM.
Dulgaro comments, "It's great to build on our long standing relationship with our friends at TVNZ. Among the many titles
that work well for them, are our long running series such as Emmerdale, Heartbeat and The Jeremy Kyle Show and we're
very pleased to be able to continue to supply these shows as part of this deal. "
Latch at TVNZ adds, "We're delighted to confirm the extension of our output agreement with ITV Global Entertainment,
particularly as this has secured the rights for Coronation Street for our loyal viewers. There are also some exciting
new titles included in the deal such as the two-part drama Lost in Austen, the six-part drama Time of Your Life."
Jane Wilson, General Manager of Programming at TVNZ says "the deal brings long term stability and consistency to the
schedule. It allows us to provide a range of quality programming from popular broad appeal entertainment such as TV2's
Hell's Kitchen and TV ONE's Trinny and Susannah franchise, to a range of acclaimed television features for the
prestigious Sunday Theatre strand."
