Flossie.com Create World’s First ‘Man Vending Machine’
NEW ZEALAND, Tuesday, October 14, 2008: Flossie.com – New Zealand’s first masthead network of female centric websites - may only be a few weeks old but that hasn’t stopped it from making history – with the world’s first, real life ‘Man Vending Machine’.
Flossie.com works on the premise that ‘Whatever you need – it’s on us’ and in this case they’ve taken that concept to the extreme by making a selection of men available in a vending machine in downtown Auckland. The genuinely single guys were sourced after an email was sent out via a well-known dating site (www.nzdating.com) and auditions were held where over 50 guys turned up for consideration.
The unsuspecting women who visited the man vending machine, located at High Street, Auckland, chose from a range of tongue-in-cheek male stereotypes: Mr. Classic, Action, Romantic, Rich, Foreign and Mr. Perfect. All they had to do was simply press the appropriate button and a man was dispensed from inside the vending machine in a puff of smoke.
From there, the guys whisked the ladies off on a date that reflected his particular stereotype – whether it be bungy jumping for Mr. Action or an intimate candlelit dinner for two, for Mr. Romantic. Several of the dates lasted into the early evening with the Flossie team even being asked to get a “leave pass” for one of the participants so she didn’t have to head back to work! For those that elected to spend time with Mr. Perfect, they were treated to a light hearted surprise in the form of a Durex Play Pure Fantasy vibrator ‘for guaranteed satisfaction’
