‘Trophy’ Lake Brunner Station for sale
A farm described as a ‘trophy’ property, in one of New Zealand’s most picturesque locations, has come on the market.
Lake Brunner Station is 2,365 hectares, including a large cattle farm, plantations of exotic timber, native forest and
extensive frontage on the West Coast’s largest lake.
Greg Daly of PGG Wrightson Real Estate, Greymouth, is selling Lake Brunner Station on behalf of the Auckland-based
Turner family, which bought the property in 1995from forestry company Fletchers. He says it offers tremendous scope to
the right investor.
“Aside from the farm itself, which is successfully breeding and finishing beef cattle on approximately 530 hectares,
there are opportunities to build 10 to 20 lifestyle or holiday homes around the lake, various locations where fishing
lodges could be built, income streams from the forestry and considerable potential for eco-tourism from the
approximately 1,150 hectares of indigenous forest, which is protected by a conservation covenant.
“Within this covenant, there is consent for the construction of tourism lodges on two sites within the indigenous
forest.
“Boiler Gully, a 325 hectare section of the Station, has also been identified for its potential conversion into use as a
dairy farm, which presents another revenue opportunity,” he said.
Lake Brunner Station is approximately 25km inland from Greymouth and 200km from Christchurch along sealed roads. Greg
Daly says his clients will consider offers around $15 million.
