Radio Sport Picks Tandem Team For Breakfast
Radio Sport will pair one of its most experienced hosts, D’Arcy Waldegrave, with livewire sport comments figure Mark Richardson in its new Breakfast lineup.
“After extensive testing of the market and taking into account our knowledge of their capabilities, we have decided that co-hosting with this combination is the way to go,” said Bill Francis, general manager talk programming for The Radio Network. “We feel the tandem approach will create a dynamic that reinforces our strong Breakfast position and attracts new listeners.”
Former international batsman Mark Richardson, one of New Zealand’s most respected test cricket openers, has carved a new niche as a cricket commentator as well as frontperson on Prime Television’s The Crowd Goes Wild, and has been a regular contributor on The Radio Network stations.
D’Arcy Waldegrave has fronted Nights, Afternoons and Drive programmes on Radio Sport.
In other Radio Sport moves, Matt Gunn takes over from D’Arcy Waldegrave on the Drive Show.
Radio Sport programme director Chris Gregory said he was delighted to be working with such a strong lineup, including long-standing Morning Show host Brendan Telfer.
