Top Search Specialist Denis Horner Joins Kinross Recruitment
Well-known recruitment specialist Denis Horner has joined leading agency Kinross as a shareholder and director.
Horner has been chairman of the Auckland-based company for two years and is so impressed with its direction that he’s now taken a stake in it.
“Kinross has a different approach to many in the industry,” he says. “Our focus is on building management teams and boards for high-growth businesses and we have achieved great success in this highly specialised area, becoming a strategic partner to a number of our clients.”
Kinross clients include venture capitalists, private equity providers and private investors, whose interests span sectors such as ICT, biotech, nutraceuticals, finance, manufacturing and services.
Managing director and company founder Stuart Chrisp said his team were thrilled to have Horner on board in a more “hands-on” capacity.
“Denis brings extensive commercial knowledge across the manufacturing, industrial, infrastructure and rural sectors, plus 15 years executive search experience. His entrepreneurial mindset will help Kinross add even more value to organisations wishing to accelerate and build sustainable growth.”
Horner previously worked with one of New Zealand’s largest multi-disciplined HR and recruitment companies Morgan & Banks, before setting up his own company, Horner & Partners, in 1993.
With a vision of “top talent, best business, stunning success”, Horner & Partners was a leader in its field, winning two international awards for industry leadership in business excellence.
Horner, who has qualifications in civil engineering, sold his business to a large international company in 2001, but stayed on as New Zealand chief executive.
In addition to his recruitment skills, he has extensive board experience at both public and private level.
Chrisp said Kinross focused on developing strong relationships with clients in order to understand their business, culture and future direction.
“We work alongside our clients in a strategic partnership – as an extension of their business, not solely as a third party supplier. We invest time to understand every aspect of their business so we can identify appropriate talent, ensuring the right fit with their organisation.”
Roles for which Kinross successfully recruits are: Chief Executives, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Financial Controllers, General Managers, Marketing Directors, Business Development Managers, Sales and Marketing Managers, Business Analysts, Logistics Managers and a range of other positions.
