It's Amazing What A Nationwide Search For Bite Sized Biscuit Stories Can Turn Up!
Over a Thousand fanatical Kiwis have already posted their own weird, wacky and wonderful biscuit stories on
www.griffins.co.nz in an attempt to win a year's supply of Griffinʼs biscuits. With all of these stories, the one thing
that keeps surprising us is just how inventive New Zealanders can be when eating Griffinʼs biscuits. None of this just
eating them straight out of the packet for us Kiwis! It seems that from Kaitaia to Bluff, Kiwis are using their
worldfamous ingenuity to come up with different ways of enjoying their favourite biscuits. Some of these are way too
good not to share:
Bite Sized Story 1:
Jack, a university student, moved into his Dunedin flat to find a MallowPuff nailed to the wall with a sign beside it
reading – “The MallowPuff that must never be touched”. For three years the MallowPuff watched over the flat, never
touched, and its existence never questioned. Jack moved out, and the MallowPuff remained for the next residents to watch
over, where it resides to this day.
Bite Sized Story 2: An 83-year-old has been cracking Gingernuts on his elbow for good luck since he was a boy.
If it breaks into three pieces, then thatʼs good luck. He says itʼs all a matter of technique! Bite Sized Story 3:
One Mum has a novel way to eat Chocolate Thins. Take a packet of Chocolate Thins and with a hair dryer, melt the
chocolate coating. While the chocolate is still warm, decorate with red, yellow and green pebbles making a traffic
light. Perfect for little kids and big kids alike.
Bite Sized Story 4:
A popular chocolaty treat with students is to suck a mug of Milo through a Chit Chat straw. Apparently Chit Chats and
Squiggles are also delicious when broken up into pieces and mixed into a tub of ice-cream.
Bite Sized Story 5:
We've heard about cheese being paired with Super Wines for a savory snack, but one imaginative woman has come up with
her own unique match – making a Chocolate Chippie Biscuit sandwich with crunchy peanut butter. She swears it's
delicious, but we think weʼll leave you to be the judge of that!
