New Study To Help Tech Exporters

National sales and marketing benchmarking study to address biggest issues for Kiwi tech industry.
17 September 2008. Christchurch. - New Zealand exporters of technology will benefit from a survey that will help identify sales and marketing strategies most likely to support growth.
Concentrate Limited and PricewaterhouseCoopers today launched the "Market Measures 2008" survey online at www.marketmeasures.co.nz and invited technology-based companies to participate.
"As an industry we are struggling to foot it internationally - only 1% of our 8000 plus technology companies are recording annual sales exceeding $15 million," says Concentrate's managing director Owen Scott.
"The main obstacle to New Zealand becoming more of a technology-based economy is not coming up with great ideas - we are already good at doing that, it is coming up with great ways of selling them to the world.
Mr Scott said a number of industry and government studies have pinpointed sales and marketing as a key weakness.
'Market Measures' will show how sales and marketing of Kiwi technology products compare to international benchmarks, and identify which sales and marketing approaches correspond closely to growth.
Mr Scott encouraged New Zealand-owned providers of technology products and services to participate at www.marketmeasures.co.nz.
Results of the survey will published in October 2008.
