Nextspace Signs Exclusive Esperient Deal
Nextspace, the 3D visualisation industry catalyst and consultancy, has signed an exclusive agreement to distribute
Esperient’s software range of 3D creation tools, including Esperient Creator, throughout New Zealand. The deal will
ensure New Zealand’s commercial and education sectors have easier access to world-leading visualisation software.
Esperient Creator is an easy to use visual computing product that combines the power of interactive 3D visual computing
with the connectivity of the internet.
Esperient Creator version 3.0, extensively improved over earlier versions, is now available from Nextspace for NZ$750
per copy. However, as part of its not-for-profit mission Nextspace is able to offer the software at a significant
discount to the education sector. An individual education licence for Esperient Creator will cost NZ$100. Researchers
and students at AUT, Massey and Otago Universities are already using Esperient Creator for a wide variety of end-uses
including architectural visualisation and product design, design concept presentations and virtual engineering through
to medical imaging.
Commenting on the agreement with Esperient, Nextspace CEO, Gavin Lennox, said: “To fulfil our vision of a $1 billion
visual communications industry in New Zealand, and empower businesses to become early adopters of 3D technology, we must
ensure our educators are fully equipped with the expertise and software to nurture the next generation of students.
“When Nextspace was created we recognised that it was vital to be able to offer something as tangible as financial
discounts on world-leading software technology. This is why we are able to distribute Esperient Creator with such
healthy education sector pricing,” concluded Lennox.
Nextspace has worked closely with Esperient since November 2007, when the company was founded by four former Right
Hemisphere employees to create 3D authoring tools for visual computing and next generation web applications. The
exclusive reseller agreement is a strategic move for Nextspace that complements its reseller agreement with Right
Hemisphere Inc, which also has education sector pricing.
Asked about the contract, CEO of Esperient, Ben Vaughan, added: “We are delighted to have signed this agreement with
Nextspace and extremely pleased that we have established a long term relationship that will enable Nextspace to deliver
a strategic advantage to New Zealand industry and education. Both Esperient and Nextspace have exciting plans for the
future and this is an important first step.”
A free trial Community Edition of Esperient Creator 3.0 is available from www.esperient.com and is identical to the full
edition except that it has a file limit size of 4MB and the file output is watermarked.
