Forsyth Barr Acquires Ashburton Broking Firm
Forsyth Barr today announced that it has acquired the business of NZX Firm Ross, Sinclair & Co. of Ashburton with effect from 1 October 2008.
Forsyth Barr Managing Director Neil Paviour-Smith said that the mid-Canterbury region has been experiencing strong growth in recent years and the acquisition provides an established presence in Ashburton. “The Ross Sinclair business has successfully serviced the local community for over 40 years and we look forward to continuing to deliver high levels of service and professional advice through the 4 investment advisors that join Forsyth Barr as a result of this purchase”.
Ross, Sinclair & Co. Managing Principal Ian Lennie said they had carefully considered the options for the future of their business and regard the sale of the business to Forsyth Barr as an extremely positive outcome for clients and staff. “By joining a large and nationwide company, it will provide clients with access to high quality research, systems and investment reporting as well as a full range of products and services to ensure we can continue to meet the investment requirements of our clients”.
