DINZ National Design Conference - Sustainability and Imminent Change
Friday October 10, 2008
Come to the Conference for the day and celebrate the BeST Design Awards in the evening.
Sustainability and Imminent Change
The pace of change in the way we trade is unmatched in history. With new technology and a growing form of community discourse we are entering a new purchasing paradigm, a zeitgeist even, and producers of goods and services who appreciate the speed of change in consumer behaviour can reap significant rewards from new opportunities.
This year the theme of the DINZ National Design Conference on sustainability will broaden to include not only outstanding international and local design practitioners but experts in marketing who will add a vital link in understanding consumer behaviour in response to a growing global demand for sustainable living.
The impact that New Zealand designers can make in the transition from a 20th century model of consumption to a 21st century blueprint of sustainable consumption will be substantial.
One of the presenters at the Conference: John Grant co-founded St Luke’s, the innovative and socially aware London ad agency, during the mid-1990’s. Working with clients such as the Body Shop as well as mainstream brands, St Luke’s pioneered the view of a company’s “Total Role in Society” and operated as an employee shareholder democracy. His latest book is “The Green Marketing Manifesto” published in 2007. Read more
