Wild Rock wine takes another step forward with new General Manager
The Wild Rock Wine Company has appointed Steve Harrop as its new General Manager.
Steve brings a wealth of experience to the newly-created role having worked in the New Zealand wine industry since 2003 after returning from 10 years working in France and China.
“I come from a family of musicians, accountants, lawyers and wine lovers. My brother Matt is a winemaker at Shadowfax in Australia, and my cousin Sam - who funnily enough was given his first job in wine by [Wild Rock owner] Steve Smith - is a Master of Wine and an international wine consultant,” comments Steve.
“I have spent the last few years developing and marketing the new Waitaki Valley wine region in Otago, which has whet my appetite for more. I see an unbelievable opportunity with Wild Rock; the wines are incredible and the new brand identity is unique, classy and proudly New Zealand.”
Wild Rock is currently exported to 20 countries with significant launches planned in North America, Japan, China and Ireland in 2009.
The new appointment comes as Wild Rock launches its new identity, which focuses on its strong connection to New Zealand.
