Vodafone offers cheapest home phone calling in New Zealand
Vodafone has been recognised as offering the cheapest home calling in New Zealand, with home phone plus local plan - at
just $25 per month, including unlimited local calls.
In its June Quarter Telecommunications Key Statistics report, the Commerce Commission states "the Vodafone home phone
plus plan is again the cheapest, followed closely by the Vodafone home phone plus National plan in the OECD's low,
medium and high user baskets."
Mark Rushworth, Vodafone Chief Marketing Officer, says that the 7th placed OECD ranking acknowledged the hard work
Vodafone had put in to ensure prices were kept low for customers.
"We are continually looking for ways to provide superior value for customers, and in these hard economic times it's
great to know that while everything else is going up in price, we have made home calling cheaper," he says.
"Both home phone plus Local plan at $25 per month and home phone plus National plan at $40 per month provide consumers
with real choice, stripping away the need for a rental line fee plus calling costs.
"We have also introduced competitive 3G broadband plans to complement these - costing as little as $1 per day for casual
users up to 10MB of data.
"Not only that, but we consistently offer fantastic value in mobile calling with such plans as BestMate and Family,
which provide unlimited calls, TXTs and video calling to groups of users."
The Commerce Commission benchmarked the home phone plus plans against other home phone plans for low, medium and high
users. The home phone plus plans came in at 7th, 9th and 9th out of the thirty countries in the OECD respectively - well
ahead of our competitors.
They ranged from 80% of the price of the average cheapest OECD plan for low users to 85% in the medium user basket. For
high users the price was 83% of the average.
