Renaissance Brands launches Freecom in NZ
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND - Renaissance Brands has been appointed the exclusive representative for Freecom storage and multimedia products in New Zealand. Joyce Wang, senior VP sales and marketing director was looking for a partner that could take ownership and responsibility for developing the Freecom Brand in the New Zealand market. “We like what Renaissance brands is about and have confidence that they will do a good job for us”, says Wang.
Mark Dasent, Renaissance Brands general manager said the company is delighted to have been appointed by Freecom. “Freecom fits our Brand strategy perfectly and it is great to work with a leader in the European market. Our aim is to replicate that success here in New Zealand,” says Dasent.
A leader in the European storage market for over 18 years, Freecom was the first manufacturer in Europe to offer a tape drive with parallel interface in 1999, launched the first external optical drive with USB 2.0 connection in 2000 and the world’s first impact and shock resistant 2.5” hard drive in 2005. Freecom has branches in 11 European countries and a network with more than 8,500 active resellers and 120 direct business partners in Europe.
Freecom’s wide range of storage products include the Mobile Drive XXS - world’s smallest 2.5” USB 2.0 external storage drive and the anti shock protected ToughDrive range, which comes with integrated USB / Firewire cabling.
Winner of the Red Dot international product design award for 2007, the Freecom ToughDrive range is small, impact-resistant, mobile, and can store up to 500GB.
All Freecom ToughDrives are protected by a silicon shock-absorbing mechanism, and have a shock resistant enclosure of hardened plastic. The outer silicon cover also provides additional damping, meaning that the ToughDrive remains in full working order after sudden impacts or even after falls from a height of up to two metres.
ToughDrives are available with either an integrated Firewire or USB 2.0 cable, which is simply folded out for connection with a PC or Mac. There is no need for additional external power adapters as the ToughDrives are 100% bus-powered, meaning less weight to carry around and allowing the drive to discreetly fit in a notebook bag or jacket.
All Freecom ToughDrives are shipped with NTI Shadow back-up software and come with a two year warranty.
