Statement From The Meat Industry Action Group
WEDNESDAY 6 AUGUST 2008
MIAG’s objective is the formation of a farmer controlled, market led, National Champion – a company that has 80% of red meat procurement, processing and marketing to get the critical mass needed to improve farmer returns.
MIAG is a farmer funded lobby group. The support from farmers has been tremendous.
Unfortunately some of the donation cheques were destroyed when the home of the group’s secretary was destroyed by fire recently.
The group would appreciate the media advising their readership of this and asking farmers to make contact if their cheque hasn’t been presented, as some had not been processed so we are not aware of all of the donations.
MIAG appreciates all donations big and small as the end goal is crucial to the survival of the sheep industry.
