Coming of Age – Tourmasters turns 21!
Tourmasters South Pacific celebrates 21 years of operation in 2008, and to make a good year better was very proud to win the distribution category of the New Zealand Tourism Awards for the second year in a row. This success is a result of a focus on a high level of customer service, staff training and commitment to ongoing development and improvement. Accepting the award on behalf of Tourmasters was CEO, Brian Henderson.
Established in Auckland in 1987, Tourmasters is a pioneer in the independent travel market and has created a range of independent travel options to suit all markets, all budgets and all interests.
In 2007 Tourmasters expanded its distribution network, through the purchase of Newman’s Holidays and Mt Cook line in the UK market, Horizon Holidays in the US and Discover New Zealand and Ski Express in the domestic market, all reputable and well established brands in their respective markets.
Through the extensive range of product, Tourmasters is committed to promoting New Zealand as a quality tourism destination, worldwide, and the tourism awards process supports this goal. The products have a reputation for quality service and excellent customer service. Strong well supported industry relationships are critical to this success.
To make a great night even better Magic Travellers Network, operated by Tourmasters South Pacific (NZ) Ltd won the Qualmark Award, and was the very proud winner of the Air New Zealand Supreme Tourism Award.
“This is a fantastic achievement and the result of the dedication, commitment and service delivered by our young team of travel professionals who continue to exceed customer expectation. Critical to our success has been the extremely high standard of product delivery of our key partners - hotels, transport and activity providers with whom we have worked, for many years, promoting New Zealand as a high quality tourist destination.”
As an organisation, Tourmasters is very supportive of both the Tourism Awards process and Qualmark. It provides the opportunity for tourism operators to benchmark themselves and encourages tourism businesses to strive for excellence. The process itself encourages review and evaluation of everything within the business, promotes confidence, business development for the future and celebrates success.
CEO Brian Henderson said “A special thank you, the Tourism Awards team, the judges who give up their time to support this process and of course the Tourmasters team who are committed to delivering world class service every day.”
