‘New Zealand Property Investment Seminar in London books out four events'
By: Jodi Cottle – Adviser/Author
Author of ‘Young & Singles Guide to Property Investment’ & Auckland based Mortgage Adviser, Jodi Cottle, is jet setting off to London on 18th of July for a whirlwind three week trip to present at four booked out events, specialising in working with kiwi ex-pats purchasing New Zealand property.
Having recently returned from the UK last year, Cottle has a firm grip on the New Zealand community in the UK, specifically London and believes she can make a difference to the prospective overseas buyer and is growing her business, Sable Mortgages around this.
“I am very passionate about this market in the UK, I have lived in it for two years and I understand the frustrations these guys have with trying to purchase a property whilst living overseas.”
“The opportunities for the ex-pat market to purchase back in NZ makes sense, all they need to do is know how. They are more able to absorb the higher interest rates and the mortgage generally services easier with a UK bank balance and income.”
“ It is the perfect time for these clients, who are generally first time buyers, to buy as they can take their time with their purchase and not have to make rushed decisions as they might have to, in a booming market which just adds to the stress levels."
“Seminar numbers have more than doubled from the events that were run last year and are expected to keep on the upward trend as my business grows with it. These are certainly exciting times for Sable Mortgages”
Cottle worked as a Mortgage Adviser in the UK so has experience within the heavily regulated UK mortgage industry. She understands the differences between the NZ & UK market and this benefits her overseas based clients.
“The qualification required to write a UK mortgage, Certificate in Mortgage Advice in Practice’ is not an easy one to gain. I have adopted a lot of what I was taught over there into my own business making it easily adaptable for when regulation hits NZ.”
CEO of the industry owned website www.realestate.co.nz, Alistair Helm, is accompanying Cottle in presenting at these events and will be offering a new service providing property sourcing.
“The synergies between realestate.co.nz & Sable Mortgages we see as a long term development project and look forward to many more of these types of UK events with even opportunities opening up to head to South Africa in the coming years to be present at the NZ Expos” Says Cottle.
The expected number to attend these seminars is 260 who have confirmed, with a further 250 who have expressed interest.
