$2 airfares up for grabs at Air New Zealand’s grabaseat Grand National
New Zealand’s favourite website for discounted airfares, www.grabseat.co.nz, will be celebrating its 2nd birthday with an hilarious mascot race to be held next Thursday 24 July.
The ‘grabaseat Grand National’ will be held in Christchurch’s Cathedral Square and 13 Air New Zealand Cup rugby mascots, including Canterbury’s own Larry the Lamb, Otago’s Shaq the Cat, Wellington’s Leo the Lion and Waikato’s Mooloo the Cow will be facing off to win $2 grabaseat airfares for their region.
To secure the prize for their region, the mascots will be jumping over suitcases, kicking rugby balls and sidestepping local rugby stars armed with tackle bags – all while wearing their mascot suits.
Rugby fans can also help themselves to grab one of 2000 free seats at one of the first home games of the Air NZ Cup rugby season when voting lines open on www.grabaseat.co.nzfrom tomorrow (Thursday 17 July). Air New Zealand will be providing the region with the most votes for its mascot with 2000 tickets to their first home game.
The winning region will be announced at the conclusion of the race on 24 July and then the grabaseat team will be giving the tickets away in the winning region the following week.
“A mascot race is a great way to celebrate turning two, getting out and supporting the community and having fun in the process,” says Nicki Garraway from the grabaseat team.
“We’re hoping to see lots of local supporters down in Christchurch and cheering on our rugby mascots, before the Air New Zealand Cup season begins at the end of the month, and fans, if you want your region to win the 2000 free tickets then make sure you get clicking to be in to win.”
