Broadband in your pocket - Telecom launches the 8cm Modem
New Zealand’s smallest 3G broadband modem has arrived with Telecom’s launch of the T-Stick.
At just under 8cm long and 1cm thick the T-Stick is smaller than a lip gloss, as thin as a pack of gum and shorter than
a credit card.
The T-Stick will be an accessible price of $49.00 on a 24 month 1GB+ Plan* and provide connection to Telecom’s 3G mobile
broadband network, covering 80 percent of the places New Zealanders live and work.
Telecom GM Mobile, Martin Butler says the T-Stick will make broadband on the move easier and more affordable than ever.
“The T-Stick is entirely plug and play. It doesn’t require an installation disk, just take it out of the box, plug it
into your laptop USB port and it will automatically start the install process.
“This little gadget also has a memory card slot and comes with a 1GB Micro SD memory card for ultra-portable file
storage. The T-Stick works on both PCs and Apple Macs®.

To prevent unwanted surprise bills customers signing up for the T-Stick are registered for usage alerts that will let
them know how much data they have used and when they are getting close to their data cap.

Telecom’s 3G mobile broadband network was upgraded with rev a technology last year which means Telecom’s cell sites now
have the ability to deliver average download speeds of 800Kbps and 300Kbps upload, resulting in an experience much

The T-Stick has been designed and manufactured by Sierra Wireless, and Telecom is second only to US provider Sprint to
launch the USB modem.
