Commerce Commission appeals Avanti Finance decision
The Commerce Commission is appealing a recent Auckland District Court decision in which Avanti Finance was found not guilty of breaching the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act (CCCF Act).
Commerce Commission Chair Paula Rebstock said that the case raised important issues in relation to consumer credit law and that the appeal will seek clarity on principles of law.
As the case is before the courts, there will be no further comment.
