Vodafone appoints inaugural General Manager of Wholesale
Vodafone is pleased to announce that Steve Rieger has been appointed General Manager Wholesale and New Business Development.
Steve's new role and team will have responsibility for developing Vodafone New Zealand's wholesale and interoperability strategies, as well as identifying and evaluating new business opportunities as they arise.
Wholesale is a new business for Vodafone and already the company has secured three mobile resellers on its mobile network – Compass, M2 and Orcon.  In addition, the new wholesale team will look after Vodafone’s national roaming partner, NZ Communications and a range of other wholesale opportunities.
Rieger’s most recent role was General Manager - Northern Region for Vodafone. Before that he held senior roles in the IT services industry, including GM of Exonet and COO of Ubix.  He begins his tenure on July 1.
“I’m thrilled to join the wholesale team at such a pivotal moment. Both Vodafone and the wider telecommunications industry are on the edge of a new era so it’s a significant opportunity and one I am looking forward to.,” says Rieger.
Rieger is joined by Andrew McDonald as Wholesale Head of Product Marketing.
Rieger will report to Vodafone’s General Manager Corporate Affairs, Tom Chignell.
