Call for entries for Air New Zealand Cargo Auckland Export Awards 2008

Overcoming tough exporting conditions is old hat for New Zealand’s exporters – they shine as they triumph over the high
dollar and the challenge of maintaining their markets. Celebrating their resilience and determination, the Auckland
Region today [Tuesday 27 April] opened entries for The Air New Zealand Cargo Auckland Export Awards 2008.
The depth and breadth of exporting in Auckland never fails to impress. Entrants in past years have ranged from a heavy
equipment manufacturer to an independent television production company to software makers – and this barely scratches
the surface of the dozens of exporters hard at work sending Auckland’s top-notch goods around the globe.
Nominations for the best Auckland exporters will be accepted until 25 June. Entering is easy but judging is rigorous.
Participating in the awards gives companies an opportunity to show their peers how exporting is thriving and giving us
he opportunity to honour those exporters making such a positive contribution to our economy.
This year four awards will honour Auckland Region’s exporting excellence. They are:
- The DB Breweries Auckland Emerging Exporter of the Year
- The QBE Insurance Consultants & Services Exporter Award
- The Ports of Auckland Deal of the Year
- The Mondiale Freight Services Auckland Exporter of the Year
The awards will be presented at a Gala Dinner on 8 August at the Hyatt Regency Auckland with Mistress of Ceremonies
Ginette MacDonald. Nomination and entry packs and tickets are available now.
Each year the awards reveal exciting, dedicated businesses in our region which stretches from the bottom of the Bombay
Hills to Cape Reinga.
Export NZ Auckland and Air New Zealand Cargo is looking forward to meeting, and celebrating, this year’s crop of
excellent exporters.
