Asia Pacific Background Screening Firms Join with the National Association of Professional Background Screeners to Form Local Group
SINGAPORE, May 26 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- In a sign of the growing importance of background screening services in the Asia Pacific region the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (USA) is working with several background screening firms in the region to create an international alliance. These key companies in the business are coming together to form a local presence to act as a guide for this relatively new, but increasingly important recruiting concept.
The newly organized group will be based in Singapore with representation from Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand. The focus of their efforts will be to tackle some of the issues that are typical to this industry, like legitimacy of background screening firms, protecting the interests of both the candidates and the clients, establishing best practices, and introducing certification programmes for the screening companies. The group is focused on meeting the needs of today's fast paced and challenging work environment of Asian businesses that are expecting high quality services, consistent practices and high standards. In addition, working together background screening firms expect to create awareness about the importance of background screening services in Asia Pacific.
Wayne Tollemache, chair for the chapter and regional managing director for one of the regions' leading provider of background screening services, First Advantage, says, ``The timing could not be better as many organizations continue to look to tap in to and learn from the experiences in the US. Having the support of the NAPBS in Asia Pacific will be extremely beneficial and help to ensure that all service providers in this young and rapidly developing industry are delivering to a high set of benchmarks. Our goal is to provide a conduit for networking and share screening customs and best practices from with the region and globally.’’
To support the local group's efforts they will be reaching out to background screening companies across the region to join the alliance with the NAPBS association.
