Corpendo look to expand Kiwi firms’ business in the Pacific
Today, Auckland based online technology firm, Corpendo (NZ) Ltd announced they would be taking a significant stake and the ongoing management of Global Availability Ltd.
CEO of Corpendo, John Hayson, formerly of Renaissance and Conduit, says, “I'm pleased to be able to announce that we have today reached agreement with Global Availability, effective June 1st 2008. This is a significant step in the expansion of our business, particularly in the Pacific, where it complements our current business with the major airlines Air Pacific and Air Vanuatu.”
Global Availability’s ResBook is an online accommodation reservation and booking system for the tourism industry. The technology enables accommodation operators of any size to maintain their reservation books online and it has opened the door to real-time online bookings for all accommodation options.
Already used significantly in New Zealand by over 600 accommodation and tourism providers, the ResBook software enables travel agents and consumers alike to view the properties’ current availability in real time, and then book it.
“The Availability system is tried, true and well tested,” says John, “Providing the perfect platform for us to take into the wider South Pacific market, and beyond.”
The takeover represents opportunities for both businesses to expand their operations. Global Availability Chairman Glenn Campbell comments, “We believe the resources, networks and expertise, that Corpendo possess will considerably expand our subscription base and we look forward to seeing the product reach it’s potential internationally” - end
