Environment Minister launches Brother Corporate recycling initiative
Brother International (NZ) Limited is pleased to announce t hat the Minister for the Environment, Trevor Mallard is to
formally launch the company’s corporate sector recycling initiatives at a special breakfast on Thursday 29 May at
Brother’s Wellington CBD premises.
The audience comprises leading corporate figures from Wellington including government and private entities.
Brother International (NZ) Limited’s Executive Chairman Graham Walshe says, “Brother has introduced an industry leading
consumables and hardware recycling programme that seeks to recover used consumables and machines from not only the
corporate sector, but also from homes."
“This is another step toward fulfilling Brother’s Global Corporate Responsibility Charter and to encourage others in the
electronics field to take environmental concerns to the next level,” Mr Walshe said.
“Having the Environment Minister formally launch the programme adds extra importance to the event and we hope it will
inspire other industry members to follow our lead,” he said.
Ministry for the Environment officials and in particular, representatives of Govt3 will also attend.
The launch itself will include addresses from Trevor Mallard with a focus on business and sustainability and Graham
Walshe who will speak on Corporate Social Responsibility and the need for public sector and private sector collaboration
and partnership. Attendees have been encouraged to take public transport where available and each will be presented with
a native cutting to plant after the event.
