Chapman Tripp partner, John Strowger, and senior solicitor, Jon Healey, worked with Skellerup Holdings Limited in respect of the NZ$12.1 million sale of its containment, roofing & waterproofing, conveyor & mining and Batavian Rubber Co businesses to Tiri Group Limited.
The sale of Skellerup’s non-core businesses was a further step in repositioning the Skellerup group as an international niche marketer and manufacturer of polymer products. The transaction aligns with the Skellerup board’s more focussed strategy in relation to its core operations in the technical polymer products sector.
Chapman Tripp has a longstanding relationship with Skellerup, and the Chapman Tripp team’s understanding of Skellerup’s businesses proved particularly valuable in enabling the negotiations of the terms of the transaction to be smoothly concluded.
Tiri Group is a diversified manufacturing and distribution group wholly owned by Nelson based American businessman, Tom Sturgess. Tiri was advised by John Collings and Stephen Law of Collings Associates.
