Redeal applies for clearance to acquire Egley Electrical
The Commerce Commission has received an application from Redeal Limited seeking clearance to acquire the assets and business of Egley Electrical Co Limited and Egley Electrical Petone Limited.
Redeal is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Rexel Group, a large international distributor of electrical products. It operates throughout New Zealand as a wholesaler of electrical products, using the Rexel and Ideal brands.
Egley is a privately-owned company which is involved in the wholesaling of electrical products from outlets in Wellington and Petone.
In considering the application, the Commission’s role is to determine whether the acquisition has the effect of substantially lessening competition in a market.
A public version of the application will shortly be available on the Commission’s website www.comcom.govt.nz under Public Registers.
