Brook Asset Management Named INFINZ Equity Fund Manager of the Year
12th May 2008 - Brook Asset Management has been named the INFINZ Equity fund manager of the year for 2008.
INFINZ is the industry body for professionals working and participating in NewZealand's financial and capital markets.
The award was sponsored by solicitors Chapman Tripp and judged by consulting firm Melville Jessup Weaver. Brook held out
Alliance Bernstein and AMP Capital Investors to take the award.
Brook Managing Director, Mark Brighouse, said the firm was very honoured to have received the award which is held in
high regard in the New Zealand financial industry.
“Recognition like this is very welcome as it reminds us that our investment process is of the highest quality and we are
succeeding in meeting the needs of our clients.”
“Industry recognition is very much appreciated – we are being judged by our peers and to be placed in first position is
extremely flattering for us.
Mr Brighouse said Brook aimed to generate strong long term performance for its clients through a fundamental investment
approach that emphasizes the free cash flow generation of listed companies.
“Our value investing approach has delivered to our clients over the long term and we continue to see increasing demand
for our range of funds, in particular those that have a greater proportion of Australian assets.”
Brook has had one of its strongest years for performance relative to peers and market benchmarks. "An investment process
which delivers during periods of market turmoil is extremely valuable to clients" Mr Brighouse said.
The INFINZ award follows the recent announcement of Brook as Morningstar Domestic Equity Manager of the Year. The
Morningstar research process also focused on Brook's strong team, rigorous process and strong performance.
