Eurolift Secures Multi Million Dollar Contract
Hellaby Holdings subsidiary and materials handling equipment supplier, Eurolift NZ Ltd, has been awarded a five year, multi-million dollar contract from Fonterra Cooperative Group Ltd to supply and service the group’s forklift trucks. Outgoing General Manager of Eurolift, Tony Curran, who was instrumental in securing the contract says, “Eurolift is now the exclusive supplier of the core forklift truck fleet at 34 of Fonterra’s manufacturing and warehousing sites in New Zealand.”
Eurolift has strengthened servicing capabilities at Invercargill, Timaru, Hawera and Whangarei to ensure that Fonterra receives maximum uptime performance from their plant investment. The contract is supported by a comprehensive reporting package supplied by Eurolift to manage cost control through standardised cost reporting.
Eurolift supplies forklift trucks from one of the world’s leading materials handling equipment manufacturers, Linde Materials Handling GmbH of Germany.
Curran says, “We have been supplying Linde forklift trucks to the dairy industry since 1995 and during that time we have built a strong reputation for reliability, performance and operator comfort. As well as our track record, Eurolift has an innovative approach to business and is committed to reducing Fonterra’s overall operating costs in New Zealand.”
Curran explains that Fonterra underwent a thorough evaluation process and the ultimate decision was fully supported by both its key operational and procurement teams.
“Fonterra has a significant forklift fleet in New Zealand and the effective operation of this fleet plays an integral part in our supply chain,” says Fonterra’s General Manager Procurement Scott Brownlee. “The decision to go with Eurolift as our preferred vendor for the core range of forklifts to our Warehousing and Manufacturing operations was based on a total cost of ownership analysis. Eurolift’s Linde product offered the best overall package including reduced running costs, a reputation for reliability and driver comfort and safety. In addition, their strong focus on meeting the highest environmental standards will serve Fonterra now and into the future.”
Fonterra is one of the top six dairy companies in the world and one of the top two Fast Moving Consumer Goods businesses in New Zealand. It is the world's leading exporter of dairy products, responsible for more than a third of international dairy trade. Newly appointed General Manager of Eurolift, Bruce Dabb says that securing the Fonterra contract is a significant achievement for Eurolift and demonstrates its strong reputation for excellent products and servicing capability.
