Funding Shortfall Resolved
Spotless Services (NZ) Limited is pleased to announce that the proposal to resolve the funding shortfall, which has held up payment of new pay rates to staff, has been accepted.
On Tuesday 15 April, Spotless met with District Health Boards to attempt to resolve the differences between them in respect of the funding for service workers in 12 District Health Boards around New Zealand. The agreement sees an end to the funding shortfall and as a result, strike action planned by Service and Food Workers Union staff across the 12 District Health Board areas is averted. Mark Russell, GM Spotless Healthcare Services says, “The agreement means that sufficient funding is to be made available to all Spotless staff. Everyone can now be paid at the new rates and those who are eligible will receive backpay.
“Spotless has worked hard to resolve the issue of the funding shortfall for a long time and it is great to finally have a solution.
“Without question, we are proud of the way our staff have conducted themselves through an exceptionally trying time. Spotless staff have always delivered outstanding service and we are pleased to see this hard work being recognized with the implementation of the new pay rates.”
