HIREPOOL RE- LOADS WITH NEW URBAN MOBILE DEPOT
18 April, 2008 – A new mobile depot to service the growing Auckland commercial CBD area has just been launched by rental equipment leader, Hirepool Limited, with immediate results.
Hirepool Reloader, a dedicated, fully equipped, mobile hire branch, working out of the Auckland City branch at Gt North Road, has quickly made its presence felt, according to mobile manager Shamus Stanaway.
“We’ve been on the road for just two weeks and while the first few days were spent visiting the large numbers of construction sites in downtown Auckland, we’ve been fully operational since,” he says. “We took 30 orders in our second week as well as a number of calls from new customers which is very encouraging.”
The custom-built Ford Transit and trailer provides an extensive range of light-medium equipment (including grinders, pumps, ram-set guns, wet vacs, welders, small generators and compactors and safety gear) for rapid response. It is also equipped with 3G mobile technology which enables it to process all transactions, including contract and invoice generation, equipment searches and print all relevant product safety information for customers.
“We literally are a mobile one-stop shop and if we don’t have what a customer needs, we can go to our nearest depot and deliver it within an hour,” he says.
According to Chief Executive Tenby Powell, the flexibility of the Reloader Urban Mobile Depot now enables Hirepool to service existing and new customers in the inner city in a consistent and highly responsive manner.
“It gives us the ability to support busy site managers by constantly moving around the CBD and developing ‘on-the-ground-relationships’ with constructors who don’t have time to move off-site to see what is available. Instead we can change the equipment mix either on-the-spot or within a very short time frame,” he says.
“We can drive straight to the location and complete the transaction and the paper-work expeditiously on-site. At the same time we can draw on the resources of Hirepool’s vast Auckland network for specialist or heavy equipment which can be coordinated through Shamus directly from the Urban Mobile Depot - Hirepool Reloader.
