Hotel survey to find Kiwi favourites
Auckland 14 April 2008 – An international survey launched this week aims to find the hotel most popular with Kiwi
travelers.
The survey, conducted annually by global online accommodation specialist HotelClub, has put up a $45,000 travel prize to
encourage voting.
With more than five million members worldwide, survey owner HotelClub says it is hoping to attract even more votes by
extending the voting period to the end of May.
The survey’s most popular hotels will be revealed in an awards ceremony in September, with the top 300 hotels to feature
in The Best Hotels Guidebook Series – a partnership title from HotelClub and Insight Guides, an international travel
guidebook publisher.
The survey and awards will identify the most popular hotels in Oceania (New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific), Asia,
Great Britain and Ireland, and includes categories for best boutique hotel, best affordable hotel, best resort, best bar
and restaurant, and more conventional categories, including best luxury hotel and best service.
Last year the Oceania region alone attracted 50,000 votes, resulting in the nomination of 6,500 hotels and travel
accommodation.
