Mortgage Market Trends Hot Topic at Conference
Auckland 10 April 2008– National mortgage market trends were amongst the hot topics of discussion at a recent two-day conference in Auckland.
“With a downturn in the property market of around 30 percent in terms of sales numbers, the mortgage industry is experiencing similar reduction in volume.  Accordingly the timing of the conference was excellent as it allowed us to work with our brokers to ensure they have planned well for the tough year 2008 will be for us all,” says Brian Greer, Kiwi Mortgages Market Managing Director.
Dunedinbased national mortgage advisors ‘Kiwi Mortgages Market’ (KMM) held its annual conference at the Crowne Plaza Auckland.  Attended by 180 mortgage brokers and KMM business partners, the hotel offered a range of meeting space to accommodate small private meetings as well as the larger group conferencing sessions.
“KMM held several private meetings in the meeting room of the Executive Club at the CrownePlaza– the ability to have a small private venue on-site to deal with potentially delicate issues was very important to them,” says conference organiser Karen Reeves, Volution Event Management.  “It was as equally as important to have a space that could accommodate the 180 delegates at the conference and the hotel did it with ease.”
Karen chose the Crowne Plaza Auckland for the conference after site inspections and a cost analysis of three Aucklandhotels.
“The most impressive part of using Crowne Plaza Auckland was how well all departments worked together as a team. For example, my initial enquiry to Hannah Callesenin Aucklandresulted in a hand delivered proposal from Julie Jolly - Crowne Plaza Queenstown Business Development Manager.
“Very unexpected but also very thoughtful.  This set the benchmark for the level of service that I received from Crowne Plaza Auckland.  They also work tightly with their in house AV provider Vidcom.  Simon Ingramanticipated my requirements even before I spoke with him, resulting in an effortless events schedule.”
Karen says the outstanding teamwork was complemented by the CrownePlaza’s excellent standard of accommodation rooms and food.  “I wouldn’t hesitate to hold another conference at the hotel.”
