Barnardos co-hosts forum on credit card compliance for other organisations in Wellington, 8 April 2008
Not only is Barnardos New Zealand leading the way in on-line credit card security for not- for-profit organisations, but
it is also helping others do the same.
On Tuesday 8 April, the child-focused organisation is co-hosting a five-hour forum in Wellington with Flo2Cash Ltd, on
how to beef up security for on-line credit card payments.
Barnardos is one of the first not-for-profit organisations in New Zealand to address new Purchase Card Industry Data
Security Standards (PCI-DSS). Flo2Cash Ltd, a New Zealand-based payment solutions company, was instrumental in helping
Barnardos to become PCI-DSS compliant.
“Despite handling around 40,000 credit card transactions a year from donors, we’ve never had a security breach yet,”
says Anne Collins, Information Support Services Manager at Barnardos.
“However, we recognised that it was in the interests of both our donors and ourselves to make sure that our payment
processing system was as secure as possible. We have been working closely with Flo2Cash Ltd to achieve this.”
“Having gone through the PCI compliance process, we want to make it as easy as possible for others who have yet to do
so.”
Adrian Feasey of Flo2Cash says, “The credit card processing environment has changed significantly in recent years. New
requirements on how merchants store, process and transfer credit card information is one area that has received
particular attention.”

the impact of PCI-DSS and explore strategies for dealing with it.”
Thirty representatives from other not-for-profit organisations will attend the forum.
