In March, 3 News also showed a +9% share growth rate from February in the 18-49 Metro demographic giving it a 38.8% share of the market, while One News declined in share in 18-49 Metro with -5%, leaving it with a 26.2% share.
Mark Jennings, TV3’s Director of News and Current Affairs says the growth is indicative of 3 News and Campbell Live’s ongoing commitment to bringing the best possible service to its audiences.
“This consistent strengthening in our viewership is the result of continuing to do the basics well. Both programmes are committed to breaking news and covering local and international stories that are relevant to New Zealanders on a daily basis.”
“This viewer endorsement is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of our producers, presenters, reporters, editors and camera crews working hard around New Zealand and internationally as well,” he says.
“Our commitment to leading news journalism is continuously reinforced by our presenter’s ability to regularly work in the field. Mike McRoberts’ recent trip to Pakistan covering their election is testament to this.”
