Christchurch Woman Takes Mortgage Holiday For A Year
Nikki Saunders of Christchurch can’t wipe the smile off her face after winning Mike Pero Mortgages “Take A Mortgage Holiday” promotion.
Nikki organised her home loan through Mike Pero Mortgages, automatically putting her in the draw to have her mortgage paid for a year by Mike Pero Mortgages.
Last weekend she opened her door to Mike Pero himself, telling her she’d won the promotion.
“I was totally surprised. I opened the door to see Mike Pero and James Heath, the broker I dealt with from Mike Pero Mortgages. My mum, dad and brother were with me already. I had absolutely no idea what was going on. They told me I’d won the ‘Mortgage Holiday’. To be honest, everything after that was such a blur,” says Nikki Saunders.
The 31 year-old bought her first home in September last year. Having returned from overseas she has spent the last year saving to buy a house. Nikki talked to Mike Pero Mortgages broker James Heath about her mortgage options and he told her about the “Take a Mortgage Holiday” promotion.
Nikki had her funding preapproved through her Mike Pero Mortgages broker, James Heath, before she purchased her new home. She planned for everything possible – except for winning the promotion!
“This is huge for me. I’ve never won anything like this in my life,” says Nikki Saunders.
“To have my mortgage paid for a year is such a bonus. It actually means I can buy things for my home a lot sooner than I anticipated. I can buy furniture, plants for the garden and do a bit of interior decorating. I can now put my own stamp on my home.”
Nikki admits that for the “briefest of moments” she considered taking an overseas trip seeing her mortgage was going to be paid for a year by Mike Pero Mortgages, but she decided against it.
She says her family was “dying to spill the beans” about her win but they were sworn to secrecy by the team at Mike Pero Mortgages.
“My family’s over the moon – they really wanted to tell me about my good luck. But it was such a nice surprise to get the good news that I’d won from Mike Pero Mortgages with my family there to witness it.”
Nikki says she’s looking forward to spending time renovating her home and buying a few bits and pieces for it.
“I’m really pleased I contacted James at Mike Pero Mortgages. He was extremely helpful,” she says.
“He worked through my options with me and helped me get all my finances sorted before purchasing. I’m really happy at the moment. I love my home!”
