Woosh Strengthens Management Team
Broadband internet provider Woosh has looked internally to strengthen its senior management team as the company
consolidates on its present platform and plans for the introduction of a WiMax network late in 2009.
Executive Chairman Rod Inglis has appointed Kristin Dunne-Powell to the role of Chief Operating Officer manage day to
day operations. She was formerly Director of Sales and Marketing while Chief Technical Officer Paul Kearney will remain
in place to manage and maintain the existing network. Both will also be extensively involved in the forward planning for
the business as it transitions to a WiMax network.
“Paul has extensive international experience in developing and maintaining new and existing networks while Kristin has
been closely involved with our recent strategy development and refocusing of the business,” said Mr Inglis.
Kristin Dunne-Powell is a former General Manager Marketing-Business for Vodafone and marketing manager for TVNZ. She
joined Woosh in May 2007 and has since been deeply involved in developing plans for consolidating the current business
and customer base before transferring technology to WiMax in 2009.
The new COO role will see her take operational control of the business leaving Mr Inglis to focus on identifying and
developing new funding streams and possible business partnerships to strengthen Woosh’s position for delivery of a WiMax
network. Ms Dunne-Powell will also be involved in developing the proposition and strategy for the launch of WiMax.
Mr Kearney, a former Commandant (Chief Technical Officer) in the Irish Defence Forces is responsible for maintaining the
current IPW Network for Woosh and preparing and building the WiMax network once funding is secured.
He is a former Engineering Director of Motorola Network Management Group and has extensive international experience of
building and creating networks in such diverse locations as Ireland, Iraq and Bangladesh.
