Jet Boat Adventure Launches At Luxury High Country Resort
Stunning high country resort Terrace Downs has today announced the launch of a new jet boating adventure – "Discovery
Jet" – the latest addition to the exciting array of unique experiences on offer at the luxury resort.
Discovery Jet will allow thrill seekers and nature lovers to experience the sensation and excitement of jet boating up
the spectacular Rakaia River, with awe-inspiring mountain views of the Southern Alps.
You will be taken on the ultimate scenic jet boat safari up the Rakaia River, world famous for its salmon and trout
fishing. Beginning at the Rakaia Gorge Bridge, the jet boat will take you through a deep canyon where you'll see
beautiful New Zealand native birds nesting, along with remnants of coal and huge limestone rock walls.
If you fancy a spot of walking, why not ride the Discovery Jet up the river and be let off on your return to enjoy a
stunning two hour long scenic walk along the river terrace!
In addition to their jet boating adventure, Terrace Downs plans to offer Discovery Jet passengers’ special vouchers
which will enable them to enjoy other attractions on offer at the resort; including horse safaris, blokarting, claybird
shooting, archery, golf and more.
Terrace Downs is a unique getaway destination just one hour's drive from Christchurch International Airport boasting an
array of activities, deluxe accommodation, award winning chefs, a championship golf course and stunning views to Mt
Hutt, all in a pristine alpine high country setting.
Operated by Terrace Downs Adventures Ltd and owned by Terrace Downs and Four Seasons Safaris New Zealand, Discovery Jet
will be based at Rakaia Gorge and operate seven days a week, weather and river conditions permitting. The new joint
venture will begin its jet boat safaris operation with one boat, with plans for future expansion.
