Barfoot & Thompson partners with Trade Me Property
Major real estate firm Barfoot & Thompson today entered into a partnership with Trade Me Property to market Barfoot & Thompson’s 6000+ listings on the Trade Me site.
Trade Me’s head of commercial, Michael O’Donnell, says, “In a single move this puts all properties marketed by Auckland
leading real estate agency on the most visited property website in New Zealand.”
Barfoot and Thompson is New Zealand’s largest privately owned real estate firm with 65 offices throughout Auckland and
Northland and close to 1,000 salespeople. Last year it sold more than $6 billion of property. The Trade Me deal will see
both rental and for-sale properties available on Trade Me Property from 1 March 2008.
Managing Director Peter Thompson says, “Our business is about combining excellent customer service with the most
effective contemporary marketing solutions. As more consumers go online it’s vital that we offer our vendors the very
best opportunity to showcase – and sell – their properties.”

The latest Nielsen online figures show that Trade Me Property is the most visited real estate site in New Zealand with
more than 730,000 unique viewers in January – more than twice the traffic of any other property site.
