Healthy home-heating solutions with Rinnai and the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation
Affecting one in six people, New Zealand has the highest rate of asthma in the world.
Household temperature is one of the most common environmental triggers for those with asthma.
The World Health Organisation recommend that houses are heated to a minimum of 21 degrees Celsius to provide a healthy and comfortable environment. Indoor temperatures below 16 degrees increase the risk of respiratory illness.
Aware of the many environmental triggers asthma sufferers and their families need to manage, the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation has established the Sensitive Choice programme.
Executive Director of the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation, Jane Patterson, comments; “With so many products on the market it’s very difficult for people with asthma to know which ones are better for their home. The Sensitive Choice programme accredits products that have proven to benefit people with asthma and allergies. As well as providing a guide for consumers, this programme is intended to encourage manufacturers to think about the needs of people with asthma and allergies when developing products.”
Committed to smart, energy efficient heating solutions, Rinnai has secured the Sensitive Choice endorsement for its Healthy Choice heating solution. The package has been created to help homeowners when considering their total home-heating needs, and includes the Energy Saver heater and Arriva flame fire ranges.
Sales and Marketing Manager of Rinnai New Zealand, David Waters, comments; “Houses in New Zealand are notorious for being cold and damp due to poor insulation and a lack of suitable heating. The aim of Rinnai’s Healthy Choice solution is to help you feel more comfortable in your home, save money on your power bill, conserve energy and look after your health.”
“Our Product Approval Panel were presented with scientific evidence that proves Rinnai’s Healthy Choice is indeed a reliable heating solution for asthma and allergy sufferers”, comments Patterson.
Specially designed not to release emissions into the room they’re heating, Rinnai Energy Saver heaters and the Rinnai Arriva flame fires are particularly beneficial for those with asthma or allergies, as they maintain the air quality of the home.
Unlike many heating solutions, which are generally mounted high-up on walls, Energy Saver heaters are mounted below waist level. Accessible vents make them easy to clean regularly therefore avoiding the build-up of dust, mould spores and dust mites.
The Rinnai Arriva is a high-performance heating appliance that delivers instant, reliable heat and is customisable to suit your décor. The ambiance created by the Arriva will add value to your home, and make your living areas comfortable and inviting.
Both the Rinnai Energy Saver and the Rinnai Arriva now carry the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation’s, Sensitive Choice butterfly logo. They are also are two of the most energy efficient heating systems on the market, and ensure the highest heat output for the lowest energy consumption.
