Wellington Chamber Welcomes newly launched Grow Wellington
The Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the launch of Grow Wellington, the newly unveiled name for the Regional Economic Development Agency.
"The establishment of Grow Wellington is another milestone for the economic advancement of the Wellington region", said Chamber CEO Charles Finny.
"The new agency shares the Chamber's objective of enhancing the region's business environment. As a private sector, member-driven organisation, the Chamber recognises the invaluable contribution Economic Development Agencies make toward this goal.
"The Chamber is fully behind the Wellington Regional Strategy and Grow Wellington's establishment is a key component of that. It is pleasing that that the whole region has got behind Grow Wellington which will be well resourced as a result.
"We look forward to working with Grow Wellington in furthering economic growth in the region particularly in the areas of expanding regional export activity, improving infrastructure and in developing centres of excellence.
"The key to Wellington's prosperity lies in the strength of its business sector and Grow Wellington will play an important role in fostering the region's business. I would like to congratulate Grow Wellington and all involved for reaching this point," Mr Finny concluded.
