BRANZ Seminar on Construction Contracts
14 February 2008
Builders wanting to get to grips with the Construction Contracts Act will be given the opportunity with the next round of BRANZ seminars, starting on 4 March in Dunedin.
“Better Building Business” is a joint venture between BRANZ and the New Zealand Builders Subcontractors Federation. Rosemary Hazlewood, Director of Building Networks, will be presenting the seminar at five locations throughout New Zealand.
While the seminar is aimed specifically at builders, subcontractors, civil construction workers and owners of building businesses, understanding how the Construction Contracts Act can help construction businesses to get paid on time is likely to appeal to specialist construction industry administrators and accounts personnel in particular.
“This seminar has been developed as a result of recent feedback from our industry focus groups, who specifically identified contracts and tenders, handling contract variations, product substitutions and managing payment claims and schedules as key areas of interest,”according to BRANZ Marketing Manager, Richard Arkinstall. “Attendees will be given templates and tools that they can take away with them and start using immediately,” he said.
Seminar dates and locations are given below:
- 4 March – Dunedin (Quality Hotel – Cargills)
- 5 March – Christchurch (Russley Golf Club)
- 6 March – Wellington (Westpac Stadium)
- 11 March – Auckland (Ellerslie Racecourse)
- 12 March – Hamilton (Waikato Stadium)
Members of the public are also invited to attend the seminars and will find registration details on the BRANZ website (www.branz.co.nz).
