New Zealand Made Grove Avocado Oil Exported to Home of Avocados
It may sound like a case of coals to Newcastle but New Zealand made premium avocado oil is being exported to the home of avocados - Mexico.
Grove Avocado Oil, a world leading producer and marketer of heart healthy, cold pressed extra virgin avocado oil, has sent a full range of sizes, flavours and formats to Mexico for sale to food retailers and the hospitality industry.
"The feedback was very promising from a trial with potential food, tourism, hotel and restaurant industry customers and our Mexican distributor has since placed what is a significant 2,000 bottle order," said Grove Avocado Oil Sales and Marketing Manager, Matt Carlson. He expects further sales interest following a promotion of the Grove range with other New Zealand gourmet food and wine products at the important ANTAD trade fair next month which is attended by 20,000 top buyers from throughout Latin America.
Along with Mexico, Grove has also sent inaugural shipments to Korea and Japan to expand its current export base of established customers in the UK, Europe, China and Taiwan.
While Grove Avocado Oil is predominantly focused on growing the Australian and New Zealand markets where it is the market leader, a huge domestic avocado crop has created the opportunity for the Te Puna, Bay of Plenty based company to significantly increase production and seek new markets.
"There is growing global demand for healthy, natural products and while our priority is to get more kiwis using our extra virgin avocado oils as part of their regular diet and in their cooking, we see an opportunity to gain an early presence in identified target markets now despite the strong New Zealand Dollar," Mr Carlson said.
Part of the appeal of Grove Extra Virgin Avocado Oil is that it is made from 100 per cent pure, fresh avocados which are cold pressed to retain all the natural nutritional goodness and deliciousness of the fruit. It is very versatile and is suitable for high temperature cooking as well as usage in cold dishes, dressings and dips.
Avocados have about a quarter of the calories and total fat by weight of butter. Gram for gram, they provide more heart-friendly monounsaturated fat, fibre, vitamin E, folic acid, and potassium than other commonly eaten fruits. They also make you feel full or satiated on less!
Grove Avocado Oil is New Zealand's biggest selling avocado oil, easily found in the cooking oil section of supermarkets and food retailers nationwide. It is available as classic extra virgin in 250ml, 500ml and 750ml bottles as well as in 250ml bottles of extra virgin Grove Organic Avocado Oil and natural infusions of extra virgin garlic, lime and horopito pepper Grove Avocado Oil.
