Vodafone ensures families come first
Dad’s taxi service has been given a boost with the launch of Vodafone Family, providing parents with peace of mind knowing their teens can call for a ride home from that late night party at no cost to them.
For only $20 month four nominated family members can make unlimited calls, video calls and TXTs to each other at any time, anywhere in New Zealand from a Vodafone mobile.
Vodafone Family is a new addition to the You Choose suite of ‘add-ons’. Only the You Choose bill payer pays the $20 monthly fee, and nominates which three people are added to the plan. Members can be You Choose or Supa Prepay customers,
Vodafone GM Product and Services, Kursten Shalfoon said that it was a fantastic tool, enabling parents to better manage household budgets, and ensuring teenagers can call Mum or Dad at any time without worrying about the cost.
“Following the huge success of BestMates we wanted to offer a product that provides great value to families, which is easy to use, flexible and works for everyone,” he said.
“There are about 1 million New Zealand families* and 72% of their communications is with each other**, so it makes sense that we enhance opportunities to keep them talking.
“Whether its calling Mum for a recipe, texting your sister to find out what she’s wearing to the movies or Dad checking in to see if he needs to pick up anything on the way home from work, all it will cost is $20 per month.
“The definition of family is up to you, it could be a group of friends, flatmates, rugby team mates, work mates or employees – the logic is exactly the same – its about keeping people connected,” Shalfoon said.
Vodafone Family launches on 1 February 2008.
