"Citroën cars and light commercial vehicles are an ideal match for our business proposition," says Richard Lowden, Green Motion's managing director. "Using practical and affordable technology, Citroën vehicles deliver exceptional fuel economy, combined with very low CO2 emissions, without any compromise of the driving experience. Also, as they are affordable, we can offer these vehicles to our customers at competitive rental rates, which greatly increase their appeal to our environmentally-aware customers."
Citroën offers more than 20 low CO2 (120 or less g/km) emissions vehicles in its European range, one of the widest ranges of its type available Europe. The company has pioneered affordable and practical emissions-reducing and economy boosting technology including Stop & Start, Electronic Gearbox Systems (EGS) and self-regenerating Diesel Particulate Filter Systems (DPFS).
During 2008 Green Motion (www.greenmotion.com) is expanding its network through the UK, by means of franchising. It will thus considerably increase the number of Citroëns it operates as it opens approaching 30 new vehicle rental outlets. By the end of the year Green Motion plans to increase its current fleet of around 100 vehicles to about 2,500, ranging from light commercials to executive cars and is set to include a large number of Citroën cars and vans.
"Green Motion is opening up a huge new market for environmentally responsible vehicle hire," explains Richard Lowden. "As Citroën is one of the most pro-active suppliers of fuel efficient, low CO2 emissions vehicles it will play a major part in the expansion of our fleet during the course of this year."
